It takes time for the body to catch up
to what the mind already senses.
Then there is the heart;
where is the heart in this?
Left out of the equation—an unnecessary variable.
A stone fortress pulsating with confidence,
or a prison of compartmentalization?
The variable seeking for a way to break through cracks.
A heart seeps up through a miscalculation,
rewriting the formula with its subterranean fluid.
Stones being porous,
the echo can’t contain itself any longer.
Somewhere a fortress is crumbling
NOTE: I wrote this while watching (re)watching Scarface this afternoon... I tend to shed tears watching a lot of movie genres—including comedy—but I didn't think it was possible to shed so many with Scarface! What an intense movie. It's probably been 20 years since I watched it last.
